Cards, Cards Everywhere!

Been a while since I posted anything so here is a random filler get post. Just got this yesterday and took some photos before I slept. Pretty worthwhile set especially for those starting out, so-so for collectors (subjective).

The packaging is weird and somewhat feels cheap. The previous set (last year) came in a nice, compact, professional looking box with the Cardfight!! Vanguard logo and circle - which I couldn't get.

Basically what you get, the Silver Wolf Trial Deck, 4 promo cards, a cardboard deck box, a deck box and manga first chapter (for introductory puposes). Costs above RM100 for what you see.

That's all for this quick insert of a post~

Guess What?

Yet another month comes to an end. Time sure flies, eh? Money as well. >_>
Pre-ordered her a while back as well and received her last week. Somewhat not as good as the Figmas I bought so far. The hood and part of the crotch area weren't painted that well (rubbery, dust prone, rather than shiny as advertised). Hm... haven't played around with all the options yet though.

Until the next post~

Dark Hound GET!

Got this a few days ago, right before Raya. Pre-ordered it from a local shop so the orice was good. =3
Now to see when I can build my now high stack of Gunplas... busy life I'm having this year.

Oh, yes. Selamat Hari Raya to those celebrating it and have fun visiting!

HG 1/144 Zeydra Review - Part 2

This is a (late) continuation of this post.

Read on for the rest of the review!

Note: The Zeydra's red is rather orange rather than actual red. I adjusted my white balance from time to time (unless I forgot since the phone's camera resets it back to auto every time I exit the application) so that the Zeydra comes out as red as possible. ^^;

Kingdom Hearts 3D

Haven't had the time to post the review posts up. Real life (having fun going out with friends and responsibilities) really does come first after all. Haven't built any Gunpla for over a month too.

Adding to that, the first cardshop in Kuching has just opened late last week. Its called Cardfight Kingdom, currently majoring in Cardfight!! Vanguard, located along Pending, Kuching. Those interested, you can search for it in Facebook gor further information.

Now I'm playing Kingdom Hearts 3D on my 3DS. Decided to get the Mark of Mastery edition since I got the chance, thanks to a friend of mine. Comes with some nifty postcards, box and casing for the 3DS (which I'm not gonna use as I'm afraid to damage it).

That's all for now~

HG 1/144 Zeydra Review - Part 1

Been out frequently ever since I got a chance to drive myself around the place so this post is very much belated to when I intended to post it up. :X
Well, I guess real life does come first before anything else here. ^^;

Price: 1300 Yen

Bought this a few months back as well as took those photos a few months back. Currently got some free time to burn so here is the Zeydra! Really enjoying the new Gunpla kits. As much as some of us like to complain that the designs are rehash of the old suits and such, the Vagan designs are quite fresh, different and special when compared to past mobile suits, although there are parallels to the original series in their designs such as Zehart mobile suits being based on Char's mobile suits.

Pilot: Zehart Galette
Height: 20.0m
Weight: 46.7t
Armaments: Beam Vulcan Gun/Saber (2, at the palms), Zeydra Sword (1, tail), Zeydra Gun/Saber (1), Beam Buster (1, green part of chest)

Blaster Blade & Blaster Dark "Limit Release"

Recently Bushiroad has lifted the ban on Blaster Blade, Blaster Dark and Dragonic Overlord for the Asia Circuit Stage. From that, I suddenly got an idea for upgrades for the two. Not sure if its workable though.

Left: Blaster Blade LR, Right Blaster Dark LR

Grade 3 (Twin Drive) - Blaster Blade [Limit Release] (Royal Paladin | Human) - 10000 Power (RRR)
Continuous VG - When -Blaster Blade- is in the soul, this unit gains +1000 Power.
Limit Break 4, Auto VG [Counterblast 2] - "When this unit's attack hits the VG, you may pay the cost, chose up to 2 of your opponent's RG and retire them.
Auto [Counterblast 2] -When this unit appears on RG, you may pay the cost, chose up to 1 of your opponent's RG Grade 2 or higher and retire it.

Grade 3 (Twin Drive) - Blaster Dark [Limit Release] (Shadow Paladin | Human) - 10000 Power (RRR)
Continuous VG - When -Blaster Dark- is in the soul, this unit gains +1000 Power.
Limit Break 4, Auto VG [Counterblast 2] - When this unit's attack hits the VG, you may pay the cost, chose up to 2 of your opponent's RG and retire them.
Auto [Counterblast 1, Retire 1 of your -Shadow Paladin-] -When this unit appears on VG, you may pay the cost, chose up to 1 of your opponent's RG Grade 2 or below and retire it.

Okay, in all seriousness, I need a better idea for their third skill since it was just plastered there. Maybe add-on power for each RG or something instead but these two are more to retiring units than anything else.

That's all for now. I wonder when I'll get down to actually post some Gunpla up again. ^^;

EDIT (27/07/12):
 "Just like a mirror."

Alternate skill ideas. =X

Grade 2 (Intercept) - Blaster Blade [Limit Release] (Royal Paladin | Human) - 9000 Power - 5000 Shield (RRR)
Continuous VG - When -Blaster Blade- is in the soul, this unit gains +2000 Power.
Limit Break 4, Continuous VG - This unit gains "Twin Drive".
Continuous VG - If you have 4 or more -Royal Paladin- VG/RG on your field, your opponent cannot normal call a Grade 0 to the guardian field.
Auto [Counterblast 2] -When this unit appears on VG, you may pay the cost, chose up to 1 of your opponent's RG and retire it.

Grade 2 (Intercept) - Blaster Dark [Limit Release] (Shadow Paladin | Human) - 9000 Power - 5000 Shield (RRR)
Continuous VG - When -Blaster Dark- is in the soul, this unit gains +2000 Power.
Limit Break 4, Continuous VG - This unit gains "Twin Drive".
Act VG [Retire 1 Shadow Paladin] - This unit's Power +3000 until the end of that turn.
Auto [Counterblast 2] -When this unit appears on VG, you may pay the cost, chose up to 1 of your opponent's RG and retire it.

Chaos Paladin

"Chaos Paladin - The main motive of this clan is to conquer the battlefield and manipulate it to their benefits."

I suddenly thought of this clan thanks to a friend of mine. A few mentions and at the same time creation of the Blaster Gold line, caused me to think of a Paladin clan that aims to dominate the playing field.

It started with this. Hm, what should I call him?
Grade 3 (Twin Drive) - Masked Man of the Abyss (Human) - 10000 Power (R)
"Auto VG - When this unit's attack hits the Vanguard, your opponent chooses 1 of his RG and that RG is put into the drop zone.
Auto VG/RG - When this unit attacks and your opponent has 2 or less RG, this unit gains +3000 Power for that battle."

Just randomly sketched this one just a few minutes ago. Chaos Paladin, huh?

Grade 2 (Intercept) - Abyss Reaper, Mina (Elf) - 9000 Power - 5000 Shield (RR)
"[Retire 1 of your -Chaos Paladin- RG.] When this unit is called to the VG/RG and your opponent has 2 or more RG, you may pay the cost, your opponent chooses 1 of his RG and that RG is put into the drop zone."

Grade 3 (Twin Drive) - Knight of Hell (Demon) - 10000 Power (RRR)
"LB4, Auto VG [Retire 2 of your -Chaos Paladin- RG.] When this unit attacks, you may pay the cost, your opponent chooses 2 of his RG and those RG are put into the drop zone.
Auto VG - This unit gains +2000 Power for each RG retired for that turn. [Yours and your opponent's.]"

Basically, it is a retiring game. Sometimes you retire your RG to retire your opponent's RG (Giraffa from Megacolony). You may also gain power if you do so and/or when your opponent has less RG (Kagero). Just like Royal/Shadow/Gold Paladin, this clan can also gain power from its own allies but I'm not sure how exactly yet.

That's all for now.

Gundam AGE Ver. SEED/Destiny

I blame ZD initially for this since he put up some nifty Gundam AGE-2 Freedom lineart ideas on his wall. The first thing I sketched out was AGE-2F based on ZD's lineart spiced with my own interpretation. Zeydra-D follows right after with a sudden "clean" lineart. I wonder if I ate anything wrong recently. >.>

J-Bouncer comes along is a rough representation of Justice/Infinite Justice. I think I should just flat out base it on Infinite Justice since it resembles that better than the original Justice. =/

Bottom of the Rollercoaster

You know that moment when you ride a rollercoaster and then it dips down, causing you to feel quezee? Yeah, suddenly got sick recently, last Friday to be exact. Must be the haze. Starting to feel better now but not well enough to go out for long periods.

At any rate...

I wonder if I took enough photos the other day.

Oh yeah, you know that feeling when you're doing the same report as the previous semester seniors but you have to do more work for it this semester? The disparity is very obvious this time around. And we get only 1 week to do it. Gee, thanks. *le rant*

Until the next post.

HG Gundam AGE-1 Spallow Review

Price: 1200 Yen

This was a rather unexpected purchase for me since this kit was unattractive to me due to the lack of gimmicks/parts especially when compared to the other Gundam AGE HG model kits of the same price. I can argue that Sunrise did well presenting the Gundam in the anime though, since I was totally impressed how a single blade (plus some small needle-like hidden shots) can do so much damage while taking in huge numbers. As cheesy and flat it may feel to some, the "raep" Spallow did on-screen was something that caught my interest. Furthermore it was a bit more expensive than normal locally but recent changes in tax laws caused that so I couldn't complain much.

Specifications
Pilot: Flit Asuno
Height: 18.7m
Weight: 33.4t
Armaments: Shiguru Blade (1), Knee Needle Gun (2)
Doesn't have many weapons on board and it is pretty much limited to short-mid range combat. It focuses on speed and agility to "raep" its opponents. I wonder how Flit handled those Gs.

Story
Spallow is the last on-screen Wear for the Gundam AGE-1 piloted by the young Flit Asuno in the first season of Gundam AGE. Because the Titus was slow and long range weaponry (DODS Rifle) was not as effective as before, the AGE System crafted this Wear. Adding on to Flit's growing X-Rounder abilities, he takes upon himself the duty of being a Savior but unfortunately...

June 2012 Get!

Pre-orders get! Been waiting for them a while, Unfortunately I didn't get anything I want in the Cardfight Vanguard booster boxes I bought though...

At any rate, gonna see how the D-Arts Zero Type 2 is soon enough. Quite oily as far as I've touched it.

It Is Now June

Time is sure passing by fast and blogs are getting more and more neglected as time goes by. At any rate, Kyan!me 2012 is coming up, 8-10 June at The Hills Shopping Mall, Kuching. I can't say it is something fantastic but if possible, try to show your support by coming. I'll be around somewhere there if anyone wants to look for me. =P

Photo above shows what should have been up in this blog, along with other posts, that I wish to do but lack the mood to have the time to spend half an afternoon/evening on a blog post lately. I lost the right side of the Zeydra's antenna somehow just now and basically put me off from a supposed photoshoot session. >.< I do hope to be able to find the missing piece...

Oh why must I accidentally lose it? ;_;

On a happier note, Selamat Ari Gawai!

EDIT:
 On another happier note, I scratch built a new simple one. :'D

Blaster Line for Gold Paladin (Random Idea)

I'm quite fond of "Blaster Blade" from Royal Paladin and "Blaster Dark" from Shadow Paladin as far as I'm playing Cardfight!! Vanguard leading me to have both Royal and Shadow Paladin decks. Their main skill is to retire one of your opponent's rear guards upon Ride/Call makes it quite strategic to use.

Recently Bushiroad has released two new clans - Gold Paladin and Narukami. Gold Paladin is more to power and cance superior calls (from the top of your deck) while Narukami is similar to Kagero (though not as dangerous, yet) and power focused as well. Narukami seems to be doing better than Gold Paladin so far. Thus, random shenanigans come to mind because I want some unut retiring fun with Gold Paladins as well - though a pipe dream it may be. Doesn't stop me from sketching out my thoughts anyway.

"Rise of the Golden Blasters"

Enter Blaster Gold. It all started from there. XP

Grade 0 - Kingal - 5000 Power - 10000 Shield (R)

Will soon build this one because I reallly feel like it. Blog sure feels empty without my usual review posts though. Even the Zeydra haven't gotten a one. :/

All cards and papers with lack of plastic in life... make a dull life. ^^;

I also wonder if I can attach Qan[T]'s binders on his one. Double Qan[T]. Oh yes! XD

Limit Break!

Since I had the chance, I decided to get myself the new clan TDs. Being able to attack upwards to 26000 with the main Vanguard out of the box does seem promissing indeed. However, it doesn't mean it can compete well with the older, more diverse clans, so far. Getting burned by The End is one thing I'd like to mention.

The TDs focus on raw power and only the main cards got any abilities out of that (asides from the Aermo clones). Garmore (Gold Paladin) pictured above superior calls any Gold Paladin grade 2 or lower upon ride at the cost of 2 counterblasts. Thunder Break Dragon (Narukami) retires any of your opponents grade 2 or lower Rear Guards upon ride at the same cost. I personally feel that Garmore's skill should be "activate" or at least gives us the chance of calling a grade 3 considering it is a one time thing. Thunder Break Dragon's skill would be nice if it can be used in the Rear Guard as well. It would make having more than one slightly more meaningful.

Well, not to be so nitpicky, the new TDs are good for introducing new players to the game. The skills are easy to understand and remember. Adaptability for em' seems better according to the games I played with less experienced players when I lent them the decks.

That's all for now. I better get back to finishing my assignments at hand right now. D=

Qi Yue* (QY) BB 00Q Warrior Simple Review

*Name thanks to Len Shinogane's post.

Price: RM1X**
**May be cheaper or more expensive depending on locale.

Decided to get this when I bought the HGUC Banshee (DM) since I got a bit of cash coming back from selling off my excess cards. XP

I did want to get one last time (an original Bandai) but didn't in the end due to other, obvious, budget allocations. At any rate, lets see how this bootleg brand fares in my hands. Do note that the images are not as organized as before since I did this without much planning. I just took photos out of order as I build and play with the bootleg. Well, something slightly different, I guess? ^^;

Temporary New Header

Somewhat want to make a "busy" header highlighting my list of "active hobbies" currently since I'll be putting them up on the blog. Well, I did call this blog "Random Stuff from the East" so by any means, it isn't limited to just Gunpla - for those who may think I'm suddenly taking a sudden shift in my priorities. ^^;

More updates and post on the way.

Coming Up Next

Finally got some time off (or you can say finally got a chance to make room for some personal time) this week. Of course the mid-terms looming isn't a pretty sight. Then again, since the test papers aren't your run-in-the mill sort (whereby you digest a few chapters of study) but rather you apply "what you already know" according to the weekly test. More skill and common sense dependent. Well, there's still a "normal paper" to tackle as well.

At any rate, I just finished building the HG Zeydra, HGUC Banshee (Unicorn Mode) and the one shown above. The BB 00Q above happens to be from a recent bootleg brand "Y". Can't read the Chinese text under the logo so "Y" it is. More on those later as photos just need filtering for some. =)

Until the next long post - after all this while. Might as well update the headers and such while I'm at it.

March GET!

Been a while since I did anything for this blog and it seems quite dead this year - due to my new life priorities and how Facebook became more central as a form of online communication. Of course that doesn't mean I'll abandon this blog.

For now, aside from the piles of cards, I finally bought some Gunpla again. Too bad AGE-2 Normal ran out but I'll get Double Bullet thanks to the most recent episode. XP

Serious Backlogs But Here's a Consolation

This photo covers several aspects of what I wanted to do on the blog, what I actually did in real life and what's left half-completed if you interpret it properly. Properly as in you have been following this blog to that point. XP

Well, what do you see? If you see something interesting, what do you think is actually happening and how did it actually come to that?

And I just noticed I pass the 100, 000 "unique" visits according to the counter below. Yay! Still sad that I can't give my all to this blog for a while already, even during my semester break - as I ended going out more than usual with much thanks to Cardfight!! Vanguard.

Tasks in Hand

Although the semester break is now over, I really didn't put up much content on the blog for a good while already. I seriously didn't expect a number of events to occur in my (real) life - bit I guess interesting turn arounds can happen. That made me spend more time outdoors with a couple of close friends.

Being able to drive also helps greatly and I recently realized that I do not want to part with my Proton Saga. Somewhat given to me by my father, I truly have a car that I can drive. It, however, needs an overhaul and some misc repair here and there (like for the power windows). Thinking back, it happened to be the first car I came to like, actually the special limited editiob Proton Knight, but it is a special thing to me nonetheless.

Last week my sister got a new phone (pictured above). Since we couldn't afford another mid-tier phone, I picked the Sony Ericsson W8 for her as she mainly uses her phone for music. At default it was very laggy but I fortunately jumped the gate and went ahead to do some research then actually hacked it. A few hiccups along the way but the final result (pictured above) made the efforts worthwhile. GingerDX is a pretty good ROM to use - its fast.

Now I even have concept design work for a few events coming up this year...

That's all for now - pretty much filler ramblings though. =P

PS: Gundam AGE season 2 is shaping up to be a much better show than season 1.

One week left for my break and I realized I haven't done what I've promised to do so I'm gonna toil away on some responsibilities for a while again... I blame my frequent outings lately. Can drive, have car then spend too much time outside. D=

MG 1/100 Sword Strike Gundam.

At any rate... has anyone watched the rather mind**** BRS anime series thus far?

What's Up?

In regards to the local Cardfight!! Vanguard tournament last Sunday, I lost - big time. Having to fight your closest friends (as per the tournament), I was overwhelmed. ^^;

Ah well, at least I can go back with two boosters still plus one King of Knights Alfred (which I bought before the tournament began but it didn't get utilized). Lohengrin, at the middle, was given to me by my friend who happen to "goreng" everyone there and won first place (while being my first opponent). Ironically, I did say he would win if he entered. =P

At any rate, it was an interesting experience I say. Some bitter aftertaste of defeat since I didn't do much for the tournament itself asides from taking photos and playing for fun after losing (then I suddenly happen to be able to win multiple times against others...). Uh, more irony? I'm not that sure about that but I never been to such competitions though. ^^;;;

Otherwise, expect this soon.

As for the fishing episode with Unicorn and Sinanju, I'm still wondering how should I go about that. Somehow thinking of something madly colorful and possibly running like a silent comic (which will open a window to bigger laughs)? Hmmm...
Note: I blame Futurama's latest episode about that last idea flash. =P

What's Up This Weekend?

Gonna join a local Cardfight Vanguard tournament later in the afternoon at Green Heights Mall.

This single (fully usable) Blaster Blade will be part of my "image of winning". Nonetheless, it will be my first time in a tournament. Wish me luck! ^^

Dragon Momoko Blade Liger DONE! :D

This is, to be honest, a quick job. A bit of smudges around with the silver painted areas but it kinda give it some kind of weathering effect. Looks alright to me. XP

Using the Tamiya bottle paints for the gold (sans plated parts) and silver for the first time so I underestimated the interval for it to dry so I essentially clumsily made more work for myself just now. ^^;

To be continued...

Early February Haul

Suddenly get these. Paints and top coat due to a friend's painting suggestion (for HGFC Shining Gundam to be exact) and the Blade Liger since it looks cute to me. X3

Hands reaching for cutter now...
