HG 1/144 Zeydra Review - Part 2

This is a (late) continuation of this post.

Read on for the rest of the review!

Note: The Zeydra's red is rather orange rather than actual red. I adjusted my white balance from time to time (unless I forgot since the phone's camera resets it back to auto every time I exit the application) so that the Zeydra comes out as red as possible. ^^;

HG 1/144 Zeydra Review - Part 1

Been out frequently ever since I got a chance to drive myself around the place so this post is very much belated to when I intended to post it up. :X
Well, I guess real life does come first before anything else here. ^^;

Price: 1300 Yen

Bought this a few months back as well as took those photos a few months back. Currently got some free time to burn so here is the Zeydra! Really enjoying the new Gunpla kits. As much as some of us like to complain that the designs are rehash of the old suits and such, the Vagan designs are quite fresh, different and special when compared to past mobile suits, although there are parallels to the original series in their designs such as Zehart mobile suits being based on Char's mobile suits.

Pilot: Zehart Galette
Height: 20.0m
Weight: 46.7t
Armaments: Beam Vulcan Gun/Saber (2, at the palms), Zeydra Sword (1, tail), Zeydra Gun/Saber (1), Beam Buster (1, green part of chest)

Zeydra Kick!

I wonder if this image is worthy of the group build kick. Hmmm...

PS: I don't have the AGE-2N so the AGE-1N was a close enough "replacement" for this action shot. XP

HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 Titus Review - Part 1

Price: 1200 Yen

Just in time for Chinese New Year (2012)~ It is pretty much red so it somewhat fits the seasonal bill. Well, a certain Chinese/Dragon-base Gundam from a certain series would be more appropriate though.

Got this one as a Christmas gift last year from a close friend of mine. Really appreciate it since I did want to get myself a Titus thanks to its CQC motive with lots of neatly placed beams.

Specifications
Also Known As: Gundam Titus
Height: 17.6m
Weight: 62.5t
Armaments: Beam Lariat (2), Beam Knee Kick (6), Beam Shoulder Tackle (8)

Story in Brief
Once a new model known as the Baqto appeared before them, Flit find problems fighting their anti-beam coated armor. The AGE System designs/creates the first "Wear" which produces the Gundam Titus - a strong CQC melee-concentrated mobile suit. It is able to bash its opponents away with pure, brute strength.

PS: Gundam Spallow is even more hax from what we can see from the anime so far. A single blade can pwn so many. Its speed is like infinite Trans-Am. No fair Flit.

SD/BB Sinanju Review - Part 2

"From the start to the end, I'm always on a climax!" ~ Momotaros
This is a continuation from the first part here.

Getting slower and slower with the blog updates lately even though I still sit by my computer. You can thank a busier real life I'm having right now. ^^; Enough with the semantics, it's time for the next part of the SD/BB Sinanju review~

Read on for the rest of the review~

Black backdrop* => Samsung Galaxy S II
*Noise is more noticeable with a black backdrop.

Char-Bird

Did the photo-shoot today though the space is more limited (due to the orientation of the location) as I'm using my "new" table (which was FOC since it was almost thrown away) plus it being located closer to the window. The SGSII is a bit more sensitive to light than my camera but considering that I haven't charge my camera in a while... whoops.

At any rate, expect the second part of the review soon-ish. The omake, if I have enough time, will be in another post. I already have an idea for it at any rate. Gonna have to watch a certain OVA closely for some good references. :3

SD/BB Sinanju Review - Part 1

Price: 1000 Yen

Squeezing in a bit of time on my blog for now even though I have many other things to complete. I guess you can say I'm feeling stressed out by the monochromatic amounts of assignments in front of my face and in need of more contrast back to my usual round of doings that is. :P

This kit is one of the harder kits to build (nicely) for every version there is of it. The larger MG should be easier to detail the gold trims at any rate and is the most detailed one overall. For the kits being reviewed this time, I can admit this is one of the harder challenges of marker detailing I've come across. Of course, the part separation is better than SDs of old but I digress.

At any rate, read on~

MS Explanation
MSN-06S Sinanju is a Mobile Suit built by Anaheim Electronics used by Neo Zeon by the pilot Full Frontal. Full Frontal, as far as the OVA has shown, looks and acts like Char Aznable... who is he really? He also fights the same way as Char inclusive of the trademark 3 times the speed and kicking Gundams.

Specifications
MSN-06S
Height: 22.6m
Weight: 25.2t
Armaments: 60mm Vulcan, Beam Rifle, Beam Saber, Beam Axe (2), Grenade Launcher, Shield

Red Comet* is Complete!

The Red Comet is here... with clear stickers!

This is yet another "no sticker" (except the clear sticker/decals) that I've done. It could've been better if my Sangouden gold marker wasn't at the end of its useful life already. (Clearer shots in the actual review later.) Overall I'm pleased with myself, there is some improvement within but mada mada dane.

I also updated the review buttons to reflect the recent reviews I've posted up - now with better quality than before. Heh, 3 years and running. Now I have so many Gunpla (although most of it are from Gundam 00). ^^;

Okay, now I seriously need to do my assignments. Oh look, Dragon Nest SEA Close Beta... @_@
(I'm normally on channel 4 using a character named Lysagora.)

Yoink!

SD/BB Sinanju WIP 2

Continuing with the not so fast progress, I just did the arms this afternoon. As usual, only used markers to detail and boy, there were lots of micro details to do if you really want it to look nice. Mine isn't entirely neatly done but for something small, I have a bit of improvement in doing such things now. ^^

My gold marker isn't giving out the nice gold color anymore and just gives me a dull bronze-like color instead which is pretty nice as well.

I might continue later tonight or not. :P

SD/BB Sinanju START!

Since I noticed that I have enough time to spare, I decided to build the BB 365 Sinanju yesterday. I haven't done much and there is still more, difficult, areas to build and detail.

Menacing, no?

Details in regards to the build in the actual review later but the blurry phone camera photo can tell you pretty much everything I did so far. My gold Gundam marker isn't doing so well any more, as evident above, but I'll just go on with it. Will buy a new one the next time I go to either Momotoys or Heng Kim Trading (HKT). (Momotoys sells in sets while HKT sells individually.)

I should totally get the HGUC version that I initially planned to get sometime later this year once the big budget plan goes through. >.>

HG 1/144 Gundam Astraea Type F Review - Part 2

This is a continuation of part 1 here.

After a good long wait, here is the next part of this review! Finally! XP
I've been quite busy as I got so many things to do lately especially since the finals are next week. However, I feel guilty for not finishing this review so I decided to post it up today (don't worry I've been studying). :P

This part of the review is done from time to time photo-shoots so the photos may look a little different from one another especially when I used the black backdrop (which I'm using to make a 4Koma for Z's giveaway - still in progress). Anyways, enjoy the shots but I feel that you may get poisoned by the Astraea's armaments. There is so many poses you can do (although the pose-ability is limited)!

HG 1/144 Gundam Astraea Type F Review - Part 1

"Astraea is officially War Machine!" - Z
Price: 1800 Yen

I finally found some free time currently so I thought I better post up the first part of the review since the photos have already been taken for a while already. I have yet to take the required photos for the next part however so that will have to wait. Nonetheless, let's go on with the first part.

GNY-001F - Gundam Astraea Type F
Pilot: Fon Spaak
Faction: Fereshete
Height: 18.3m
Weight: 55.1t
Arms: GN Launcher, GN Beam Saber (2), GN Beam Rifle, Proto GN Sword, GN Shield, GN Hand Missile, GN Beam Pistol (2), *NGN Bazooka, GN Hammer
*NGN stands for Non-GN which means that the bazooka is able to use physical shells without the need of using GN particles. It can, however, use it to enhance its effectiveness IIRC (credit to the Gundam Animesuki forums).

About the Gundam:
Unlike the Gundam Astraea Type F and F2 seen in 00F, the one depicated here is actually the Black Gundam Astraea which is fitted with a fake solar furnace AKA GN Drive Tau. After the final battle in 00F, it seems that Fon steals that Black Gundam Astraea and made it his own since his own Astraea is not usable anymore (due to the need of giving back the original solar furnace to Celestial Being). As for its ridiculous amount of armaments... it looks like Fon has been happily scavenging lots of places lately...

SD Unicorn Complete!

Fufufu, just finished my SD Unicorn! And I'm pretty happy with the final result. ^^
This isn't a review post, not yet, but just a preview post. The review will be done a little later after all the paint has settled on the kit. =)

This one is a completely no sticker build but I think I should have used the white stickers as my white paint need a few more coats to actually look more solid. But, meh, I'll leave it as it is as I think the white on transparent red creates a rather nice effect itself.

Also, I had to use Gundam Marker Silver from the Songokuden set as a replacement of my already finished gray marker. I think it works just as well. ^^

Until the next post~

NG 1/100 Gale Strike Gundam (CUSTOM Ver. rndm) Review

On Friday this week, I bought the NG Gale Strike in a great and ray decision to mode it to my liking and satisfaction. To know more about what I did, please read the first WIP and second WIP. I won't really call it a WIP per say as all of it was done in one fell swoop of one day! So, it is technically a Work in Super Fast Progress. XD

At any rate, read the review over at my Wordpress blog but it is pretty long and detailed for a simple NG review though. XP

TT Hongli HG 1/144 Virtue Review

Price: RM1X

Yay! Another bootleg review! However, this time, I'll be doing something a little different though it is similar to the one I did for the TT Exia a while ago. Please scroll to the bottom of the post if you wanna read the action part which I hope will entertain you... ^^

For further information on the HG 1/144 Gundam Virtue, you can read my previous review on the original here. It is a bit short and not so detailed as my more recent reviews though. ^^;

Note: The images in the action part are all edited so don't take the sudden change in texture as me painting the Virtue or something. XP

Finally, My Semester Break Starts!

Phew! Since I didn't or barely got any time off during the end year of 2009 due to the mandatory Summer Semester, I am finally happy and relieved to be able to get my break. =)

I won't be doing much this break but I like to do quite a number of stuff such as build the remainder of my un-built Gunpla (as well as reviewing them), go driving (I lack much experience ^^;) using my father's old car (Proton Saga!) and taking a nice relaxing break before my first year in degree starts (as long as everything goes well) in March.

I wonder if any else is having a break now?

Besides that, I did something totally random to my TT HG Exia just now. Not so random but the thought to do so kept haunting me while studying the day before. Well, anyways, here it is!

Some beam saber action using TT HG Virtue's beam saber and then...

"Pink is lame! RED is better!"
*beam saber turns red*
"Yes! Red beam saber! Me like!"
Oh noes, what had become of Exia?

Err, yeah. It's just a quick paint job for the condenser parts using the metallic red Gundam marker and (after shaking a lot) for the "toothpick" that came with the Exia (plus some part of the GN Drive though not shown). ^^;

I didn't want to peel off the already stuck on stickers so I couldn't paint some of the other parts even though it would make the Exia look oh so much more awesome (in red)... *_*

Ah, err, wait... *runs*
