Project HGCC Destiny

I wonder if this plan will work out nicely. Technically it is somewhat of a "mod training" whereby I try to put this 2 together and make an "updated Destiny". Both are bootleg kits from TT Hongli/Gao Gao. Well, lets see how this goes. Have yet to start anything though except putting the 0 Gundam together. Maybe I should use the unbuilt bootleg Destiny instead since this has been painted (with markers) already.

PS: The HG Gao Gao 0 Gundam isn't half bad. The overall build quality is quite solid. The faceplate has a bit of a problem so I stuck it on with bluetack since I may be using the parts here for the mod later on.

Dark Hound GET!

Got this a few days ago, right before Raya. Pre-ordered it from a local shop so the orice was good. =3
Now to see when I can build my now high stack of Gunplas... busy life I'm having this year.

Oh, yes. Selamat Hari Raya to those celebrating it and have fun visiting!

HG 1/144 Zeydra Review - Part 2

This is a (late) continuation of this post.

Read on for the rest of the review!

Note: The Zeydra's red is rather orange rather than actual red. I adjusted my white balance from time to time (unless I forgot since the phone's camera resets it back to auto every time I exit the application) so that the Zeydra comes out as red as possible. ^^;

HG 1/144 Zeydra Review - Part 1

Been out frequently ever since I got a chance to drive myself around the place so this post is very much belated to when I intended to post it up. :X
Well, I guess real life does come first before anything else here. ^^;

Price: 1300 Yen

Bought this a few months back as well as took those photos a few months back. Currently got some free time to burn so here is the Zeydra! Really enjoying the new Gunpla kits. As much as some of us like to complain that the designs are rehash of the old suits and such, the Vagan designs are quite fresh, different and special when compared to past mobile suits, although there are parallels to the original series in their designs such as Zehart mobile suits being based on Char's mobile suits.

Pilot: Zehart Galette
Height: 20.0m
Weight: 46.7t
Armaments: Beam Vulcan Gun/Saber (2, at the palms), Zeydra Sword (1, tail), Zeydra Gun/Saber (1), Beam Buster (1, green part of chest)

HG Gundam AGE-1 Spallow Review

Price: 1200 Yen

This was a rather unexpected purchase for me since this kit was unattractive to me due to the lack of gimmicks/parts especially when compared to the other Gundam AGE HG model kits of the same price. I can argue that Sunrise did well presenting the Gundam in the anime though, since I was totally impressed how a single blade (plus some small needle-like hidden shots) can do so much damage while taking in huge numbers. As cheesy and flat it may feel to some, the "raep" Spallow did on-screen was something that caught my interest. Furthermore it was a bit more expensive than normal locally but recent changes in tax laws caused that so I couldn't complain much.

Specifications
Pilot: Flit Asuno
Height: 18.7m
Weight: 33.4t
Armaments: Shiguru Blade (1), Knee Needle Gun (2)
Doesn't have many weapons on board and it is pretty much limited to short-mid range combat. It focuses on speed and agility to "raep" its opponents. I wonder how Flit handled those Gs.

Story
Spallow is the last on-screen Wear for the Gundam AGE-1 piloted by the young Flit Asuno in the first season of Gundam AGE. Because the Titus was slow and long range weaponry (DODS Rifle) was not as effective as before, the AGE System crafted this Wear. Adding on to Flit's growing X-Rounder abilities, he takes upon himself the duty of being a Savior but unfortunately...

June 2012 Get!

Pre-orders get! Been waiting for them a while, Unfortunately I didn't get anything I want in the Cardfight Vanguard booster boxes I bought though...

At any rate, gonna see how the D-Arts Zero Type 2 is soon enough. Quite oily as far as I've touched it.

Until the next post.

Gundam AGE-2 Double Raiser?

Just putting this out before the eventual long post (along with Banshee and Zeydra). =P

I can say this now; for those who own 00 HGs and add-ons, you'll so enjoy kit-bashing this one. =D

Zeydra Gets a Friend

Will soon build this one because I reallly feel like it. Blog sure feels empty without my usual review posts though. Even the Zeydra haven't gotten a one. :/

*squeezes time for it this weekend*
All cards and papers with lack of plastic in life... make a dull life. ^^;

I also wonder if I can attach Qan[T]'s binders on his one. Double Qan[T]. Oh yes! XD

To be continued...

Zeydra Kick!

I wonder if this image is worthy of the group build kick. Hmmm...

PS: I don't have the AGE-2N so the AGE-1N was a close enough "replacement" for this action shot. XP

Coming Up Next

Finally got some time off (or you can say finally got a chance to make room for some personal time) this week. Of course the mid-terms looming isn't a pretty sight. Then again, since the test papers aren't your run-in-the mill sort (whereby you digest a few chapters of study) but rather you apply "what you already know" according to the weekly test. More skill and common sense dependent. Well, there's still a "normal paper" to tackle as well.

At any rate, I just finished building the HG Zeydra, HGUC Banshee (Unicorn Mode) and the one shown above. The BB 00Q above happens to be from a recent bootleg brand "Y". Can't read the Chinese text under the logo so "Y" it is. More on those later as photos just need filtering for some. =)

Until the next long post - after all this while. Might as well update the headers and such while I'm at it.

March GET!

Been a while since I did anything for this blog and it seems quite dead this year - due to my new life priorities and how Facebook became more central as a form of online communication. Of course that doesn't mean I'll abandon this blog.

For now, aside from the piles of cards, I finally bought some Gunpla again. Too bad AGE-2 Normal ran out but I'll get Double Bullet thanks to the most recent episode. XP

That's all for now. ^^;

HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 Titus Review - Part 2

This is a continuation from this post.

One of the most beam-ful Gunpla out there. If you're fan of CQC and beams, you'll definitely love this model kit and its versatility. Read on for the rest of the review!

Update on Spark Gundam? Plus Double Binder 00 Qan[T]

Because of this and that, I took out the HG 00 Qan[T] as well as the 2nd hand one I got from my friend not too long ago. Decided to continue with the parts placement (obtained from the bootleg HG 00 7 Swords) onto the 2nd hand HG 00 Qan[T] in order to continue my Gundam design - Spark Gundam. Since this will be my "first time" doing anything major, if I do proceed within the near future, I'll try not to "over-attempt" the mods and overall build design. ^^;
Note: It won't exactly look the same as what I've drawn, I believe, as I'm not experienced enough to do until that "image" I have in mind.

Well, see how this goes.

Utilizing the 00's backpack (while held up by blue tack for now) works quite well. =O

HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 Titus Review - Part 1

Price: 1200 Yen

Just in time for Chinese New Year (2012)~ It is pretty much red so it somewhat fits the seasonal bill. Well, a certain Chinese/Dragon-base Gundam from a certain series would be more appropriate though.

Got this one as a Christmas gift last year from a close friend of mine. Really appreciate it since I did want to get myself a Titus thanks to its CQC motive with lots of neatly placed beams.

Specifications
Also Known As: Gundam Titus
Height: 17.6m
Weight: 62.5t
Armaments: Beam Lariat (2), Beam Knee Kick (6), Beam Shoulder Tackle (8)

Story in Brief
Once a new model known as the Baqto appeared before them, Flit find problems fighting their anti-beam coated armor. The AGE System designs/creates the first "Wear" which produces the Gundam Titus - a strong CQC melee-concentrated mobile suit. It is able to bash its opponents away with pure, brute strength.

PS: Gundam Spallow is even more hax from what we can see from the anime so far. A single blade can pwn so many. Its speed is like infinite Trans-Am. No fair Flit.

HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 Normal Review - Part 2

Part 1 HERE.

Okay, lets continue this review after a nice Christmas and an interesting beginning to my New Year, well, except that the flood recently caused a number of problems. ^^;

I actually waited until I have at least caught up to the recent Gundam AGE episodes (as I stopped at episode 4 before this) but I was caught with a sudden disappointment at how they are progressing the story. Blandness, over-explanation and improper use of tension made the story feel disappointing for me to watch. What happened to all the excitement from the earlier episodes? :/

Nonetheless, I'm still impressed with the HG and this review will illustrate that.

New Year on the Horizon

Didn't expect myself to be so busy this week (to extend that, the whole year), actually thought I could relax and game/Gunpla at home. Unfortunately, duty calls. Lots of stuff are coming up around me and needs my attention, whether it be friends or family. I guess it is true that as you grow older, you have more responsibilities to attend to.

I still feel bad for not adhering to most of what I've planned for my blog this year, especially the omake I thought I would be doing. The idea is (or was now?) in my head but I did not execute them yet and more model kits enter the stack. Hm, I wonder if I can do something to atone myself on the day of New Year? I guess continuing this blog like I intend to should be one of my New Year's Resolution. Hm-mm. ^^;

The photos for AGE-1N review part 2 is ready but I don't have the time at the moment to type it out nicely. Don't want to half-arse it or anything just to out a review. Most likely will be popping out on the day of New Year earliest going with my current schedule.

AGE-1 Normal

Preview for my verdict of the HG Gundam AGE-1N;
  • Great articulation all around, if you have built or know of the HG 0 Gundam, that's how good it is.
  • Part separation is one of the best so far so painting isn't really required.
Will cover more aspects later but you know that this model kit gets a big sticker of approval from me already. (For those who want to buy this for whatever reason, it is a good model kit to get. It is great for those who are new to Gunpla especially. I see what you did there Bandai.) =)

If you are currently in Kuching until 2 January 2012, do come by for the gift exchange event at Heng Kim Trading over at BDC Crystal Complex (Everrise). Further details in the Facebook event page itself. Last day to submit a gift would be on the event day. >_>;

This is a quick shout out at Nintendo 3DS owners in Kuching or would-be owners. If you own or are interested in this interesting glasses-free 3D handheld console, why don't you join our little group in Facebook and we also hold weekly gatherings on Saturdays (subject to change) over at the table (Bukit Mata Seafood) in front of Momotoys at OneJaya from 1.30-4.30pm.

Mario Kart 7

At the same time, as they are people to have fun with, I've been giving more attention to my 3DS gaming profile. Well, not that much. Recently I've obtained this game. Didn't really plan to get it actually but since it is a racing based game, which I like, I bought it. Wished there was a Christmas discount tacked on it then but at well, it is a rather fun game to play - especially with friends.

Cardfight!! Vanguard

Finally, ever since I came back from AFA 11 (Anime Festival Asia 2011), I've endorsed myself into the world of card games. To be honest, it is actually more fun that I initially thought. Although buying an English Trial Deck (basically a starter deck) wasn't a good investment (as others played using the Japanese cards), I still had fun with the Royal Paladin Trial Deck along with my 4 Blaster Blades in that deck thanks to some PR cards I got from AFA that time. ^^;

Maybe it doesn't look good but I upgraded my deck with Japanese cards in-between but luckily the circle here doesn't seem to mind as long as the cards are legit. Whether they are English or Japanese, they are still manufactured by Bushiroad. =)

At any rate, if you're game, I'm game too.

---

That's all for this what-I'm-doing-nowadays-filler post. Next post on the day of New Year itself I presume. Closing it off, Happy New Year (soon) everyone!

3D Photo Fun

Using the site above, you can also upload .mpo 3D photos like the ones captured by the 3DS. If you can view 3D, download the .mpo files for best effect. =)

AGE-1N on de way~ Just need to haul my laziness away first. That and my friends and I are planning a BBQ this New Year Eve. Rain, please don't come on that day. =X

HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 Normal Review - Part 1

Time to go back to our regular dose of... Gunpla! I haven't been building Gunpla lately, not with how I take a good amount of (building fun) time I spend on each one. Last week, I decided to build this guy, right past midnight, until the sun rose again. Built the armaments in the evening after that. It was also brought over to Heng Kim Trading for a certain gathering. This review may be a little bias as I'm really loving this model kit. Or maybe that means that it gets a 100% approval on the get-go already. Nonetheless, on with the review!

Price: 1200 Yen
(Yen, Y U APPRECIATE SO MUCH LATELY?!)

Specifications
Pilot: Flit Asuno
Height: 18.0m
Weight: 43.4t
Armaments: Dots(?) Rifle, Shield, Beam Saber/Dagger (2)

Story in Brief
This Gundam was created by the child genius/prodigy and sole survivor of the Asuno family, Flit Asuno. He wasn't meant to pilot the Gundam but a sudden attack by the UE (Unknown Enemy) at his current colony forced him to take action and become another "young teen Gundam pilot".

Note: All photos are taken with the Samsung Galaxy SII @ 8MP. Image are downsized to 25% of original size for blog use.

HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-1 Normal COMPLETE!

After a good while of not building anything, I went back in by building the Gundam AGE-1 Normal as my first build this semester break. I was really impressed with this one, it is easy and straightforward to build though shows some minor bumps in detail to make it not look so simple. More on this in the upcoming review post which is completely taken with the Samsung Galaxy SII @ 8MP.

Until the next, long, post~
