Random Life Stuff & So On

Phew, looks like my blog was rather dead thanks to me going to school once again. Well, that can't be helped, it isn't like I have all the time in the world to update (or actually make content) for this blog for the time being.

This post isn't much but some blurps on some interesting and uh-oh moments of my life. A life post if you may but not one that is too terribly detailed.

Read on for... real life stuff. XD

A small gallery on my SD Gundam Exia! I just painted some parts with some Gundam Markers. It ain't that good actually but I'm pretty much happy with the final result. Did this last year actually and took it out just now for a short random photoshoot. ^^

Ideas, Concepts & Sketches Spam! Take 1!

Okay, time for a huge post! This post will most likely give deja vu to most Gundam fans and especially to those in the chatroom. Be warned that this post may contain too much data or ideas that of a horrible or crazy parody-ful stuff!

Onwards... to madness.

First off, let me explain about the stuff I have been drawing, well on the ones I have posted on Deviantart and showed most of you all. I know that they seem very Gundam-centric but I do draw other things but they may interest most of you a whole lot less... unless you are DFC or trap fans. >_>

EDIT (13/04/10): Fixed some grammar and updated some sentences to sync up with the newest post.

Real Grade 1/144 Gundam

Source: Ngee Khiong

I. Don't. Believe. It! Bandai is gonna make a 1/144 scale HG/MG/PG hybrid?! It is stated to even have an inner frame! Whether it will be complete or not, I don't know (unless I missed that part in the text).

If you all, especially those in the chatroom, have heard/seen/read me rambling about a HG sized MG. Lo and behold! It's gonna happen! Real soon too! O.O
At 2500 yen, it seems rather reasonable considering what it currently promises. I'll be looking forward to this... I asked for something like this in the first place. XP

HGUC 1/144 ReZEL Review - Part 2

This review is a continuation of the first part here.

Phew, thought I wouldn't be able to finish this by then end of this week but luckily, I did! There is a minor problem for the static shots though as I forgot to put the clear stickers before going to this part of the photoshoot. Forgetful me. ^^;
I didn't get a chance to retake those shots properly though but I did take some close-up shots of the clear stickers placements so I hope that will be good enough.

At any rate, read on for the full review~

Note: There's a battle at the end of the review. Hope you'll enjoy it~ =)

HGUC 1/144 ReZEL Review - Part 1

Price: 2000 Yen

Phew, finally I can put up the first part of this review! I didn't really had the free time to actually do it due to my school starting up again. I'm not very busy yet so I'm able to build and review this beautiful kit... that has a really obvious hard-on which I feel should be cut off due to inappropriateness or to just leave it there as its trademark. XD

Specs:

This is a Mass Produced Transformable Mobile Suit based on the Zeta Gundam. It is used by E.F.S.F. (Earth Federation Special Forces). For more information, watch or read the Unicorn series!

Read on for the usual box, box open, runners and building process review~

Robot Damashii Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] Review

Price: 3500 Yen
(A good price comparison for this is the MG Wing Gundam Ver. Ka which costs just as much.)

Wow, talk about sudden purchases! After hearing about the greatness that Robot Damashii (RD) provides, especially in playability, I couldn't resist getting one. With the more choices now available at Momotoys, I was able to get certain RD figures. Actually, if you're in Kuching and looking for figures, go there as the stocks are starting to overflow (2nd Floor, The Spring)!

New stocks came in this Monday and I got the RD Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] after lots of thought and staring at it for two days.

Unicorn: Finally!
Me: ^^;
Wallet: *burp*

Before going on with the review, I suggest a quick peak at my previous reviews on the HGUC Unicorn first. It will help you understand some of the stuff I'll state in the following review.
HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] - Part 1 - Part 2
HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Unicorn Mode] - Part 1 - Part 2

Okay, onto the review~
Caution: I couldn't do much close-ups or really detailed shots for it unfortunately as my camera really didn't want to close in as much as I wanted due to its *COUGHS*15cm macro*COUGHS* and its starting to act a bit more fussy... might be due to age and usage. I better don't get the HGUC Loto... it'll sure be hard to photoshoot that one... hopefully I'll be able to get a new camera by May. ^^;

EDIT (16/03/10): Added an additional note about the material of the figure. For those who have read before, I'm just saying that the figure isn't 100% made of the rubber composite material. Just saying since I felt that I might have or will mislead some of you. ^^;

Special Note: I'm just calling it a 'rubber composite material' since it 'feels' like it is made of rubber to me. According to further analysis, the softer and more flexible parts seem to be made of PVC or soft plastic. Sorry for not being accurate on this since this is my first 'action figure' in a while. Then again, I don't think I read up on what 'toys' are made up off. Always think they are made of plastic and whatnot. XP

This Month's (?) Loot - March 2010

Well, I'm still pretty free this week so I might as well have some fun before the storm brews in next week when everything will go into second gear and above. ^^;

Like I said yesterday (or more accurately this "morning"), new stocks has arrived at the local hobby shop - Momotoys. Can't buy yet yesterday but it is possible today after the prices are set and price tags are put on. =)

I also already said what I'll buy and thus, I bought...
HGUC "Mr. Hardon" ReZEL and Robot Damashii Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode]!

The RD was an impulse buy though. I, at first, thought I won't buy the RD Unicorn due to the red parts not being clear. However, after a good long stare and looking through the various other RDs available, it was calling out to me to purchase it. Finally, after lots of thought, consideration and knowing that my wallet is ready, I bought it. It isn't as cheap as buying the HGUC for one thing but it doesn't cost as much as the MG either. It follows the current Yen rate so I can't complain much.

EDIT: The RD Unicorn Destroy is my first RD and I bought it since I wanted to experience a RD for myself as well as for those infamous gatling guns...

Okay, that's all for now. Still photoshooting the RD Unicorn Destroy and thinking of building "Mr. Hardon" tomorrow (shouldn't take long to build, I barely see much need to panel line). =D

Back to School

Semester breaks don't last forever and mine sure didn't. Sad that it had to end so soon but I pretty much enjoyed my 2 month break. Did nothing major but it was all good. ^^

Met some new people online, especially some fellow bloggers through the chatroom, and got closer to those who ever commented on my blog or those whose blogs I've commented on. Social interactions are important since I barely went out during the break (don't really drive myself and don't really have a car that's guarantee not to die on me). >.>;

Anyways, yesterday was the first day and nothing much went on, not yet anyways. There aren't any tutorials for the first week, just introductory lectures, so I still have ample of free time his week before the storm brews in with many deadlines and exams to do. Hopefully I'll survive degree successfully as it sure won't be as "easy" as Foundation.

Also, I went to Momotoys again - local hobby shop. I was a bit disappointed that nothing much came in for a while but luckily many packages came right before I had to leave for my next class. I helped out a bit since I was there and all and saw many many great stuff. Some of you may just go into rage mode touching them. S.I.C Kabuto, Figma Reimu, Nendo Drossel, MG GN-X, HGUC ReZEL, RD Bonta-kun, RD Unicorn Destroy Mode and many more.
Even though the huge un-boxing was done there, I wasn't allowed to buy any of the new stocks yet since I think the boss of the shop needs to check first. Ah well, at least I know what I want currently and can plan my current budget. Unluckily, the very hoped for HG 007S/G wasn't together with the rest. They got a lot of HGUC Unicorns restocked though.

To make it more crazy, there were practically more than 10 Nendo Drossels that came in. Some Tamashii Nation limited stuff as well, though I guess they are already booked by another regular. ^^;

Closing the day, I was brought to a kopitiam by my father and drank a different colored Teh C Peng Special. Special indeed. XD

Well, that's all for now. Since the 007S/G hasn't arrived yet, I guess my budget says "yes" to the ReZEL first and maybe a RD if all goes well... I really like most of the Zeta based suits, even if its "nicknamed" Mr. Hardon. Tomorrow~ =D

BTW, since I'm back to school, I won't be updating my blog as frequently as during the break. Expect around 1-2 posts per week or nothing at all if the assignments pile up amongst subjects by May.

MG 1/100 Shining Gundam Review - Part 2

This is a continuation of part 1 here.

Sorry for the lateness of this second and final part. I was occupied with a certain MMO Close Beta 2 and last night I've finally started playing Mass Effect 2. I'll still be occupied after this as I'm pretty hooked with ME2 for the time being, I really like how the interactions and the story is panning out. ^^;

I won't say the photo taking session for the Shining Gundam was perfect however, I made a few mistakes especially at the legs for the transformation. I'll tell you what it is as you read on. I don't really have the mood to fix them since there are too many pictures to retake if I want "perfect" shots.

Okay, read on for the articulation, gimmicks, action, comparisons and conclusion!

Note: There are some Youtube videos embedded into this post. Only watch them if you dare to be spoiled (unless you've seen the series).

Scene Sketch - The First Stab

I drew this way past midnight but I felt that it wasn't half bad so I decided to upload it. I won't say its completely alright as some proportions might be a little off as I'm not so used to drawing a large sized sketch on an A4 paper. I normally draw on A5 papers. XP

Anyways, for the description on the sketch, check it out on my DA. ^^

C & C welcome for the story especially. It's not original or anything but supposed to be some sort of parody of all the Gundam series combined. >.>;
